The legality of surrogacy is currently on the hotplate of political discussions in the USA and India. Just last weekend, Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal vetoed a bill for the second time to legalize compensated surrogacy for married, heterosexual couples. A bill introduced in D.C. last year would allow residents above the age of 21 to enter into surrogacy agreements. After the parents agree to pay medical expenses, the gestational carrier surrenders her rights to raise the child. In New York, State Senator Brad Hoylman is co-sponsoring a proposed law to overturn the current prohibition, making compensated surrogacy legal.

Surrogacy Bill stalled again in USA!!

Bobby Jindal who is of Indian Descent once again showed his conservative leanings by vetoing the Louisana Surrogacy bill

For the second year in a row, Gov. for the state of Louisana, Bobby Jindal has vetoed legislation that sought to set up a legal framework for surrogacy births in Louisiana.
Jindal announced the veto Saturday, three days before the end of the legislative session. His chief of staff, Kyle Plotkin, delivered the news by phone Saturday morning to state Sen. Gary Smith, who co-sponsored the legislation.
The governor, in his veto message, wrote that “despite the good intentions and hard efforts of the author, this legislation still raises concerns for many in the pro-life community.” He said he couldn’t “in good conscience, sign this bill.”
With his veto, Jindal killed legislation that attempted to give parents legal protection when they turn to a surrogate to carry their biological children. The bill’s sponsors — a state senator and a state representative whose wives grappled with reproduction issues — made a number of concessions without ever garnering the governor’s support.

Unfortunate that India can no longer help Spanish from having a baby through surrogacy

Contrary to what a  lot of the Spanish commissioning parents think  both Indian and Spanish governments are responsible for the current situation because of which spanish married /heterosexual couples cannot undergo surrogacy in India.the spanish consulate/MEA refuses to give a supporting document which says that babies born through surrogacy will be granted citizenship and Passport post birth.
this is a simple enough requirement from the govt of India and is important because babies should not be left stateless and i do not understand why the spanish government would refuse to give such a  letter even though they do give passports and citizenship to babies born through surrogacy in India.we have ourselves helped several spanish couples through the process.

Barcelona- Every year, around 800 Spanish couples who see surrogacy as their only reproductive option must go abroad because Spain does not permit the practice, experts said here at a conference organised by law firm Subrogalia.
Only a few countries have any legislation regulating surrogacy and establishing that legal paternity resides with the couple who hire the surrogate, specialists in the field told EFE Thursday.
Spanish couples pay anywhere from 50,000 to 200,000 euros ($70,000-$277,000) for the process.
The top surrogacy destination for Spanish couples is Ukraine, where some clinics offer unlimited implantation procedures for a fixed fee, but Mexico is becoming more popular, as Ukrainian law bars surrogacy clinics from serving single people and gay or lesbian couples.
"Four years ago, the United States was the top destination and represented around 80 percent of all Spanish couples," Diego Sanchez, president of Subrogalia, said, adding that the proportion has since fallen to 15 percent.
"If we could go to a closer country to hire surrogate mothers, then we would," he said.
While Britain, Greece and Cyprus permit surrogacy, the practice is limited to residents and the prospective parents may not pay the surrogate, the attorney said.
Adoption is difficult in Spain, Sanchez said, noting that "more than 15,000 couples are officially registered on the waiting list to adopt 80-100 children a year."

Sheeba and Jacob from Dubai and Marcelo from Brasil were blessed with children last week with the helps of our surrogacy program.
i met one of the parents today and they were very very happy.they have been trying since several years to have a baby.
it feels good to work in a profession where all parties involved are benefitted and you can make abig difference to the lives of others on a daily basis but sadly the Indian Government does not seem to have a mind of its own when it comes to most matters and the same is with International surrogacy and seems to be dictated by what the foreign press and lobby have to say.
apparently the prime minister of India was also told by his belgian counterpart that members from EU countries should not be allowed surrogacy in INDIA.
the good news is that Elections are all in full swing and i hope that this Puppet government is thrown out of power and Narendra Modi who has a strong will ,a mind of his own and a vision for development and growth and is known to have a favour

able stand on surrogacy become Prime Minister!!the whole of India needs him and even though i have cases lined up on voting day i will get up earlier than usual at 5 am and go and vote first and then go and work!!

Once upon a time in a village, a man appeared and announced to the villagers that he would buy monkeys for.  Rs 10 .

The villagers seeing that there were many monkeys around, went out to the forest and started catching them .

The man bought thousands at Rs 10 and as supply started to diminish, the villagers stopped their effort .

He further announced that he would now buy at Rs 20 .

This renewed the efforts of the villagers and they started catching monkeys again .

Soon the supply diminished even further and people started going back to their farms .

The offer rate increased to Rs 25 and the supply of monkeys became so little that it was an effort to even see a monkey, let alone catch it!

The man now announced that he would buy monkeys at Rs 50!

However, since he had to go to the city on some business, his assistant would now buy on behalf of him .

In the absence of the man, the assistant told the villagers .

Look at all these monkeys in the big cage that the man has collected .

I will sell them to you at Rs 35 and when the man returns from the city, you can sell it to him for Rs 50 . '

The villagers squeezed up with all their savings and bought all the monkeys .
Then they never saw the man nor his assistant, only monkeys everywhere

A nation where:
* Rice is Rs.40/- per kg and SIM Card is free.
* Where a pizza you have ordered reaches home faster than an ambulance or police, even if you were being murdered or having a heart attack!!!

A nation where: 
* A car loan is charged at 5% but 
Education loan, so necessary for our youth is charged an interest of 12%.

A nation where: 
* Students with 45% get into elite institutions through the quota system, and
* Those with 90% are sent away because of merit.

A nation where: 
* A millionaire buys a cricket team, spending crores instead of donating the money to any charity. 

A nation where: 
* Two IPL teams were auctioned at 3300 crores, 
* Yet we a poor country where millions don't get two square meals per day. 

A country where: 
* Ordinary salary tax payer is punished/fined for error in paying little less in tax, 
* But the IPL collecting thousands of crores has not paid any income tax  
and no body has any issue about it. 

A country where:
* Footwear is sold in AC showrooms, 
* But the vegetables we eat, are sold on the footpath and very often next to garbage dumps.

Its a strange nation we live in, 
* Where assembly complex buildings get ready within a year, while 
* Public bridges, flyovers and sea links take several years even to get off the drawing board, and another decade to be completed.
* We have malls, and sky-rises, with slums forming their boundary wall.

A country where:
* Men and women squat on railway tracks, with no where else to go, while * Watching them from windows, are couples (just 'Two') with three bathrooms and one for the guests.

A country where:
* Politicians who are supposed to serve the people accept money from the same people they are supposed to serve, and then 
* Take a salary from the government for their services to these people.

We are a nation:
* Where we talk in hushed whispers about the corruption in the country and then
* Dig into our pockets to bribe a cop when we are caught cutting a red light.

A country: 
* Where to get small service in Govt. needs a minimum qualification of graduation, but 
* No qualification is required to run the same Govt. (get elected!). 

A country: 
Where our soldiers defending our borders, when jailed by neighbouring  countries,are tortured & not even provided proper food/ facilities, but 
The militants from across the borders when in our jails are served  biryani on demand.

Trevor and Erin Beselt are overjoyed on the birth of their Son-Joseph Beselt who was born on february 18th 2014.

Erin and Trevor are canadians based in hong kong and the first time an embryo transfer was done for them last year the result was negative and keeping Erin's age in mind i had suggested that they try using donor eggs but they persisted and said that they wanted to use their own gametes.

we had 1 blastocyst for the second transfer and even though i was not very confident of a pregnancy the test was positive and 36 weeks later joseph was born!!

Jak and Eldam and their gorgoeus twins flew back to the USA yesterday night!!yes the regulations are different now for singles but it does not mean that anyone will stop you from taking your baby back home.
if you have signed up before the regulations were in place,the government agencies will do their job,they will screen and if everything is fine then you will be granted the exit visa.there is a lot of stuff being written about on the Net.99% of it is hearsay by vested interests.dont get bothered by the rumour mongering!!
A good clinic and their team will back you all the way even in the most difficult of circumstances,it is important that you do the same.
a big round of applause is due for Mr Satvinder Singh and Mr.Ranbeer singh who have slipped into their jobs as case managers with stupendous ease!!Both the singh's played a big part several babies getting their exit visas by continuously following up with the FRRO officials and other Govt.Agencies and making sure the exit visas were granted in the quickest possible time.
