Advantages Of PGS
Pre - Implantation Genetic Screening or PGS is a process performed before the embryo is implanted in the uterus. The anomalies in the embryo are detected prior to being implanted in the uterus thus reducing the risks of giving birth to an abnormal child sharply.
Is important to know that almost all couples face the risk of genetically defective embryos, however, the risks tend to increase for:
- Older women who have already reached the age of 40 - Couples with a history of male infertility - Multiple embryos made ready for implantation - Women who have had multiple miscarriages in the past - Women who have had still born babies - Couples who have already child with a disability

It's
nearly impossible to scroll through social media without coming across birth
announcements, newborn photoshoots and cake smashes - but one IVF baby is
becoming a powerful symbol of hope.
One
Arizona couple Kimberly and Patricia O'Neill wanted to display the realities of
In Vitro Fertilization by sharing a newborn photoshoot of their 'rainbow baby'
- a child who was conceived following a stillbirth, miscarriage or infant
death.
As
many couples and families who experience infertility know - nothing about the
IVF journey is easy.
The
O'Neill's photoshoot features hundred of IVF needles, shedding a light on just
how much is involved in the process.
The
immediate heart surrounding the infant is made of blood-thinner syringes her
mom used twice a day while the outer ring is made up of the many IVF injections
that followed.

This past June,
Olympic diver Tom Daley and tv producer Dustin Lance Black became first-time
fathers to a lovely baby boy named Robbie Ray.
The two fathers
were gifted with Robbie Ray through surrogacy and now Daley shares that he'll
be exploring the world and law of surrogacy through a tv film for the BBC.
According to The Sun, Daley will travel between the UK, the US, and undisclosed
countries where surrogacy is illegal.
Not only will
Daley document the surrogacy process, but he will compare the systems in both
the UK and the US. In addition, the film will show Daley and his husband
discussing the challenges they faced while on the journey to meeting their son.
The documentary is set to air sometimes next year.
Back when they
announced that they were going to have a baby through surrogacy, Daley and
Black faced an onslaught of homophobic abuse online. Many religious-inclined
homophobes rejected the idea of two men raising a baby and doing so through
surrogacy
"Surrogacy
is one of the most complex issues in modern society and the laws which govern
it are radically different across the world."

Jacob was born via our Surrogacy Program in Ukraine, which is
part of our Kiran Fertility Services.
Jacob's
mom just sent us a small note - "...I can’t believe it’s been a year
already! Jacob started walking this week and there’s no stopping him now! haha It has gone by too fast. It has been a very exhausting, but amazing year. We
couldn’t be happier. :) We have started thinking about baby #2..."

Some of the colleagues of mine are attending the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology’s annual conference in London and told me about an interesting presentation by a group of spanish researchers that Playing music to an egg in a dish in an IVF lab increased the chances of it being fertilised by 5 per cent.
The Spanish researchers believe that the tiny vibrations produced by music give fertilisation a helping hand,They think the vibrations may ease the passage of nutrients into the egg and speed the removal of toxic waste, so increasing the odds of fertilisation taking place and the embryo surviving.
apparently Pop, classical and heavy metal were equally good, apparently these group of music lovers placed iPods in half the incubators and left them playing music including pop songs by Michael Jackson and Madonna, heavier tracks from Nirvana and Metallica and classical works by Bach, Mozart and Vivaldi.
Embryos don’t develop the ability to hear for at least 14 weeks, so the Doctors think that the vibrations produced by the music are key.
at first the idea seemed bizarre to me but it could have some scientific basis.
after ICSI we keep the Embryos in a petri dish filled with culture media but after natural intercourse the embryos move down the fallopian tubes and then pass all the way to the uterus so maybe the vibrations from the music maybe mimicking this affect! well seriously i dont know! maybe more studies are needed but who would have thought!!

When they checked the dishes, they found that fertilisation rates were higher in the incubators in which music had been played.
