Priyanka Chopra’s decision to freeze eggs during Quantico

Priyanka Chopra, a Bollywood actress, has revealed that she froze her eggs during the shooting of her TV show Quantico. In 2018, Priyanka Chopra and musician Nick Jonas got married. Last year, the couple used a surrogate to deliver Malti Marie Chopra Jonas, their first child. Malti was born in the US.

She said that she decided to freeze her eggs, as she wanted to ensure her reproductive options in the future.

For working women, single women, or women who want to have children egg freezing is not the simplest thing to do, but still, she recommends it. She also said that while she was in her 30s, she had grasped the need to go ahead with this idea and wanted to have a child and hence she talked to her mother, Madhu Chopra, an obstetrician-gynecologist.

According to Experts at Kiran infertility center Egg freezing, also known as oocyte cryopreservation, is a medical procedure in which a woman's eggs are extracted, frozen, and stored for later use. It's a way for women to preserve their fertility and increase their chances of having a child when they are ready.

One of the main benefits of egg freezing is that it allows women to delay pregnancy without worrying about the quality of their eggs deteriorating as they age. Women's fertility declines as they age, and the quality of their eggs decreases, which can make it more difficult to conceive naturally. Egg freezing can give women the peace of mind that they can still have a child in the future, even if they are not ready to do so at the present time.

Another benefit of egg freezing is that it can be used in conjunction with other fertility treatments, such as IVF, to increase the chances of a successful pregnancy. For example, if a woman freezes her eggs when she is young, she may be able to use them later in life if she experiences infertility or struggles to conceive naturally.

Priyanka Chopra had frozen her eggs at age 30. You can do it too, Find out how

Priyanka Chopra and her husband Nick Jonas gave birth to their daughter Marie Maltie through surrogacy. She acknowledged that she froze her eggs because her mother Madhu Chopra who happens to be an obstetrician-gynecologist counseled her to do so. During a podcast she said that she froze her eggs to have a life of freedom. She wanted to concentrate on her work and will only have children whenever she meets the right person.

Indications for Oocyte frrezing

Oocyte cryopreservation is aimed at three particular groups of women:

1.Those diagnosed with diseases such as cancer and have not yet started chemotherapy or radiotherapy;

2.Those undergoing treatment with ART Treatments and do not consider embryo freezing an option due to various reasons.

3.For females who would like to preserve their future ability to have children, either because they do not yet have a partner, or for other personal, financial or medical reasons.

Many women in the reproductive-age women are diagnosed with cancer each year all over the world. Chemotherapy and radiotherapy are toxic for oocytes, leaving few if any, viable eggs. Egg freezing offers women with cancer the chance to preserve their eggs so that they can have children in the future.

Oocyte cryopreservation is an option for individuals undergoing IVF who object, either for religious or ethical reasons, freezing embryos. They have an option to fertilize only as many eggs as will be utilized in the IVF process and then freeze any remaining unfertilized eggs. Bu this no excess embryos are created, ruling out the possibility of damage of unused frozen embryos, which accordingly few individuals may object to due to certain obvious reasons of ethical or religious in nature.

Egg freezing is also an option for women who, for the purpose of education, finances, career or other reasons, desire to postpone childbearing. Some top corporates such as Google and Facebook have now come forward and offered egg freezing options for their workforce as it may ensure a chance for a future pregnancy.

Blastocysts ready for transfer

Blastocysts ready for transfer

Perfect blastocysts are all set for the final step. Blastocysts are embryos that have developed for approximately five to six days after fertilization and are usually made up of about 100-200 cells. Blastocysts are typically considered the most advanced stage of development for an embryo prior to implantation in the uterus.

Your Ultimate Guide for Treatment Of infertility with stem cells

Your Ultimate Guide for Treatment Of infertility with stem cells

What are stem cells?
Stem cells are undifferentiated cells that exist in the embryonic, fetal, and adult stages of life.
Stem cells and Infertility
Stem cells are being explored for the treatment of infertility due to their presence in huge numbers and easy availability and for their potential properties to differentiate into other cells.
Stem cells are being used in Assisted Reproductive technology treatments to produce varying types of specialized cells, including oocytes and sperm.
Autologous stem cells are successfully being used for ovarian and endometrial rejuvenation.
Pleuripotent  haematopoetic stem cells which are present in both men and women are being used in other branches of medicine as well for their  regenerative qualities
Earlier science thought that women have a certain fixed number of eggs and their numbers cannot be increased however this no longer holds true as the use of stem cells is proving that serum AMH levels and the Number of Antral follicles can increase with proper usage of Autologous stem cells along with other adjuvant medications.
Stem cells in male Infertility
Stem cells have also shown benefit in Azoospermic males and can be used in cases of both obstructive as well as non obstructive Azoospermia
Stem cells In Female Infertility
In the treatment of female infertility, stem cells are most commonly used for premature ovarian failure or low ovarian reserve with poor quality eggs and also for chronic thin endometrium of varying etiology

How do Stem Cells help?
Stem cells are mostly taken from the bone marrow from the Hip bone, they help by replacing the damaged cells when injected into the tissues where rejuvenation is needed.
Note
Stem cell treatment is still in the experimental phase, so, at this point, we can’t certainly say that it will work for everyone.
Patient-wise Selection is needed based on age, Hormone levels, and reasons for Infertility, etc to find out who may benefit the most from the use of stem cells.

How genetic testing is helping in treating male infertility?

How genetic testing is helping in treating male infertility?

Genetic testing for infertile males has advanced significantly in recent years. Even though it is acknowledged that rates of genetic anomalies are anticipated to be higher in males in need of ART, many genetic causes of male infertility remain unclear.

As per the embryologists of Kiran Infertility Center – Hyderabad, the purpose of genetic testing is twofold, and it is currently advised in some situations, particularly the assessment of severe oligospermia or azoospermia. The first goal is to find any genetic disorders that might be passed on to the progeny. Second, genetic testing might make it easier to pinpoint those who would probably benefit from surgical sperm retrieval methods.
