More and more australians having babies through surrogacy in INDIA.

A sharp rise in Australian children born in India shows that Domestic laws prohibiting  commercial surrogacy is not going to stop parents going overseas to India to have babies through surrogacy.
The number of citizenship requests for children born in India has increased manifold in the last couple of years
according to some estimates about 100 couples across Australia were engaging in compensated surrogacy in INDIA alone primarily in Delhi,Mumbai and Hyderabad.
more Australians visit Delhi and mumbai because their Consulates are located in those cities.
at our clinic alone in the last year we have had 23 couples from Australia for ivf and surrogacy.

Surrogacy is not safe in Thailand.

according to news reports Thailand is set to open up on surrogacy - to allow women who are willing to carry and deliver babies for others who are not their relatives.

Physicians involved in surrogate deliveries will be asked to register with the Medical Council of Thailand, in a bid to prevent illegal surrogate babies which is rampant in thailand,a majority of babies born through surrogacy are shown to be born out of wedlock.

however surrogacy will be Altruistic and not commercial"The council is now considering how to prevent the use of this arrangement for commercial purposes,"  said an official after a meeting of the Medical Council's executive committee.

Last year, Thai police arrested a Taiwanese gang that lured Vietnamese women to become surrogate mothers for children to be adopted by rich foreigners. The scam was uncovered when immigration police raided a house in Bangkok and rescued 13 of such women. The case also involved hospitals and personnel providing surrogacy services.

Bollywood superstar cleared of gender Selection in surrogate baby.

Bollywood megastar Shah Rukh Khan received a clean chit from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation  on a case of alleged  gender testing that is  banned in India. The BMC told the Bombay High Court on September 12 that an inquiry has found baseless the allegations leveled against SRK and his wife Gauri of conducting pre-birth sex determination tests of their surrogate son AbRam. Justice Sadhana Jadhav was hearing a petition filed by social activist Varsha Deshpande for early hearing of the complaint filed by her in a magistrate court seeking action against the couple and others under the Pre-conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques (Prohibition of Sex Selection) Act.

The Mumbai Court also noted that the only basis for the petitioner's complaint was newspaper reports. The complainant alleged that the civic officials had failed to take action against the couple and hence she moved the magistrate's court with a fresh complaint. Earlier, Shah Rukh had rubbished allegations over the pre-natal gender tests on his third child. The couple already has two children -- Aryan and Suhana.

Allow Surrogacy for all without Discriminating.

The women and child development (WCD) ministry of India has proposed to the health ministry to allow surrogacy to everyone, including unmarried couples and those in live-in relationships etc. In its comments sent to the health ministry on the proposed Assisted Reproductive Technology (Regulation) bill, 2013, the WCD has opined that surrogacy should be allowed to everyone, irrespective of marriage.
Calling the definition of “couple” (as stated by health ministry) narrow, the WCD has suggested that the definition of “couple should include everyone who wants to avail ARTs and surrogacy, irrespective of marriage.”

hopefully this reccomendation will turn things around for the Indian medical Tourism scenario which right now is going through a very lean phase much like other major sectors of the economy.

Fire in the Blood!!

in one of my earlier entries i had written about Big Pharma Companies and their refusal to sell drugs at a cheaper rate to millions of needy folk in the developing world.
Fire in the Blood,” directed by Irish-Punjabi filmmaker Dylan Mohan Gray, describes itself as an intricate tale of medicine, monopoly and malice.

The documentary, which opens in the U.S. this weekend and in India next month, argues that Western pharmaceutical companies and governments caused at least 10 million unnecessary deaths since 1996 by aggressively blocking the developing world’s access to low-cost AIDS drugs.

The film, narrated by actor William Hurt, follows a group of activists who came together to stop what they describe as the crime of the century.

Before the documentary’s New York premiere, Mr. Gray spoke with The Wall Street Journal’s India Real Time about taking on Big Pharma and the starring role India can play in the global struggle for affordable medicine.
the trailer can bee seen on the link below,i cannot wait for it to release.

i am a big Manchester united fan and i was sulking pretty much all of last week when they lost to liverpool at Anfield.Man United need a creative midfield player very badly.Ryan Giggs is over the hill and someone like a Xavi or an Iniesta would reallly turn things around and David Moyes has to keep in mind that he aint at Everton anymore and be more aggressive and push for wins even at the cost of risking loosing a game, that is What Alex Ferguson wuld do when he was manager!!
my fiance gifted me this Cool manchester united jersey and i was pretty chuffed about it
