surrogacy laws-Uruguay latest to open doors for Surrogacy

in a landmark legislation,Uruguay’s Parliament approved a law recently allowing women to rent their wombs for assisted reproduction
Left-wing and right-wing parties passed the law with almost total unanimity. In all, 59 voted in favor and one voted against.
The law states that these “services” are for couples with a biological impediment to conceive as well as for “women with an independent civil status.”
It will, however, not allow for single men or male homosexual couples to access assisted reproduction. Lesbians will be able to do so.
