Hearty Congratulation to Mr.Cory Howland from the USA on the birth of his Son- 3.5 kilograms .the boy was born a couple of days ago and is doing well. the American Post birth process is by far the easiest compared to other countries-it is simple and straightforward,the latin american countries such as Brasil,Argentina comes a close second followed by Canada and Spain.Australia is also straightforward but time consuming-30 to 40 days. UK by far is the Worst in terms of processing citizenship and passport applications and will take anywhere between 4 to 6 months.

when we did our first UK case in 2006/7,it was so much simpler- 14 days however when more and more people started to go abroad for Surrogacy they decided to tighten things by extending the time frame slowly but surely,perhaps under the impression that it will prevent people from going abroad for surrogacy. well it did not actually happen that way and we still get a lot of Folks from UK for Surrogacy in India and Nepal as well and they are not deterred by the time frame to leave India with their baby/ies.

Japanese dad in the middle of the Thai Surrogacy scandal set to return to thailand

A 24-year-old Japanese man who has fathered more than a dozen surrogate babies in Thailand said he is ready to return to Thailand early next month to talk to police and claim his children currently in the care of the government. police said Monday. 
A senior Thai police officer told Kyodo News that Mitsutoki Shigeta communicated his wishes through his Thai lawyer, Kong Suriyamonthon.

Thai police have told Mr Shigeta to explain the circumstances surrounding his act of fathering surrogate babies, warning that legal action will be taken unless he gives an account personally to police.
The official said Mr Kong contacted police Sept 26 and told them Mr Shigeta will travel to Thailand by early October at the latest.
A parental test conducted by Thai authorities through DNA samples provided by the man has shown he is the biological father of the babies. Mr Kong on Sept 3 provided a written statement to police explaining why his client fathered the children through surrogacy.
According to Thai law, a father who wants to obtain parental rights needs to testify before a family court. Thai police have said they want to hear the man's explanations in person.
The Japanese father had also previously promised to visit Thailand to undertake the legal procedures of parenthood.
According to police, Mr Shigeta has fathered 16 children in Thailand. Mr Kong has said Mr Shigeta also fathered two surrogate children in India. Police said last month the man left Thailand with four new-born babies bound for Cambodia so far this year, taking with him one baby at a time.
Mr Shigeta, traveling with a Cambodian passport visited, Cambodia more than 10 times, according to police.
Police found out more surrogate babies fathered by the Japanese man in an apartment in Bangkok together with their nannies. The babies' birth certificates named Mr Shigeta as their father.

Surrogacy Controversy-HC dismisses petition against Bollywood star SRK in surrogacy case

The Witch Hunt against bollywood actor Shah Rukha khan and his Doctor seems to be reaching its logical end with the Mumbai High Court refusing permission to handover the Records pertaining to the Surrogate mother.
Justice Revati Mohite-Dhere dismissed the petition filed by Ms Deshpande against an order of a magistrate of October 23, 2013, which had rejected her application under Section 28(3) of the PCPNDT Act(under this act determining the sex of the foetus before birth is a crime), seeking directions to the BMC to produce all records of the surrogate mother and test conducted on her in order to support her case.

Her case was that the doctors who had done the Surrogacy procedure for the actor in Mumbai had allegedly violated the PCPNDT Act that prohibits sex determination of a foetus.
there has been intense speculation in the media trying to sensationalise the issue,the fact remains that the Baby was born extremely pre term and there were rumours in the media that they were expecting a baby boy when the fact was that the baby was already born by the time these reports appeared in the media.


Ms Deshpande had sought prosecution of the actor, his wife and their doctors on the basis of a news report in a city tabloid in June 2013, which claimed that the star couple were having a baby boy through surrogacy.

The surrogacy subject arose during Sunday’s national congress. LLH believe it should be an equal option with other forms of assisted reproduction.
“For many of our members, this is the way they can create a family with their own biological ties,” Bard Nylund, head of LLH said to Vårt Land.
Norwegians currently travel abroad so they can start their own family, as surrogacy is illegal in Norway.
It is estimated that 150 Norwegian children were born by surrogacy in countries such as India or the United States.
Legal rights will only be generally granted to parents under Norwegian law if one of the parents are residents of Norway when a child is born outside the geographic boundaries of the country in these cases.
Another issue is that adoption may be required to obtain legal rights as parents in cases where parenthood cannot be granted under the Norwegian law.
At the same time, homosexuals are losing out when it comes to adopting children.
“There are many countries that will not adopt to same-sex couples, which consequently means this is only a possibility on paper,” Mr Nylund explained.

Sudan national moves HC against surrogacy norms

A Sudan national Monday moved Punjab and Haryana High Court challenging the guidelines of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) restricting single foreign nationals and unmarried couples from coming to India for purposes of surrogacy on medical visas. The MHA had last year revised the norms allowing only married men and women with a marriage of at least two years to come to India on medical visas for the purpose of surrogacy.

Taking up the petition of Shihabeldin,who desires to be single parent,a division bench headed by Chief Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul issued notice to the MHA asking it submit its response to the petitioner’s contentions by September. Advocate Anil Malhotra had moved the petition on behalf of Shihabeldin.

The petitioner,a permanent resident of Republic of Sudan,said in his petition that he wishes to be a single parent through a surrogacy arrangement and hence vide a mail dated June 29 contacted the Indian government and enquired about single foreign parent surrogacy facility in Chandigarh.

However,he was denied the same and was told that surrogacy facility in India could not be availed by a single foreign parent.

He was told that the MHA,vide revised guidelines dated July 9,2012,had restricted surrogacy to married men and women with a marriage of at least two years,there by excluding single foreign nationals and unmarried couples from coming to India for purposes of surrogacy on medical visas.

Dubbing this as violation of Article 21 of Constitution of India (right to life and personal liberty),Advocate Malhotra submitted that surrogacy cannot be denied to single foreign nationals.

Malhotra contended that “this unreasonable and unjust classification treats equals unequally thereby violating equality of law and equal protection of laws”. He said,“Foreign nationals,overseas citizens of India,and person of Indian Origin cannot be discriminated in the matter of surrogacy upon comparison with Indian nationals”.

He contended that imposing a ban on surrogacy by foreign single persons or foreign unmarried couples amounts to “an unreasonable,unjust and arbitrary classification,which has no nexus with the object sought to be achieved”.
