Blastocyst Embryo transfer.

Surrogacy in India.

Why is a Blastocyst Transfer is Preferred in IVF Cycles.

There can be abnormalities in cleavage stage embryos  which mean that such embryos may not  lead to a pregnancy. Increased age of mothers also enhances the chances of chromosomal issues. This means that a lot of abnormal embryos experience a halt in their growth during development.

A blastocyst carries much greater chances of leading to a successful pregnancy once it has been transferred to the patient as it is the end stage of the embryo just before hatching and implanting in the uterus.Statistics reveal that implantation rates for human blastocysts in about 5 th or 6 th day are twice that of standard cleavage stage embryos. Moreover, blastocysts are that phase of embryonic development which is supposed to be inside the uterus during implantation.

These blastocysts have a better chance of survival inside the uterus. This is why blastocyst transfer is always preferred in IVF Cycles. To learn more about blastocyst transfer, you can always consult with the doctors at Kiran infertility centre and its branches in Hyderabad, bangalore, Chennai,Dubai and ukraine.

Does Attaining Menopause signal the end of fertility?

The thought of reaching menopause can have shattering consequences on your emotions. Doctors term it as the cessation of your fertile period and you may begin to equate it with the end of your femininity.

Well, you can always enjoy your life to the fullest even after menopause. Sure, it might be difficult to become pregnant at this stage but it is not impossible either.

You would be excited to know that you will pass through perimenopause in your late 40s when you are still able to conceive but the possibility declines sharply with each passing year. It will be impossible to conceive naturally once you attain menopause though.

Do not fail to visit a fertility doctor at KIC, Bengaluru (https://kicbengaluru.com/causes-of-female-infertility/ )to know how you can give birth in your late forties and early fifities. Some of the options available include:-
1) IVF with your own eggs may be a possibility in your early forties but after 45 it becomes extremely difficult
2) Surrogacy- The reproductive organs of a menopausal woman tend to shrivel and become non functional. Many patients find it easier to have a baby via surrogacy wherein the surrogate mother is chosen on account of her fertility and proven quality of being able to bear a child.
Doctors recommend surrogates with past records of successful pregnancies and have at least one healthy living child.

4) IVF with donor eggs- A woman’s ovaries are unable to release eggs after menopause. However, a fertility doctor can utilize healthy eggs (oocyte) from a younger woman and use it for the IVF procedure. Fertilization takes place with healthy sperm from husband or male partner  and healthy donor eggs coming together thereafter.
5) IVF with frozen eggs. Some women are planning before hand and freezing their oocytes in their thirties itself and they can then plan pregnancy through IVF or Surrogacy later

The IVF cycle also becomes considerably shorter as the fertility expert does not have to wait for fertilization to take place before development of an embryo. Moreover, it has been seen that the frozen embryos are of the highest quality with capability of being able to implant successfully.

Diagnosed with Ovarian cancer? Fertility preservation may be an answer to try for a child later.

you may still  be able to conceive  when only one ovary has been removed and the uterus  is left untouched . However, having both the ovaries and the fallopian tubes removed will not result in normal conception.
However in such scenarios patients are advised to freeze their eggs before opting for surgery or chemotherapy.  With or without fertility preservation IVF and or Surrogacy are a definite possibility to have a baby
Please get in touch with us to know more

Check out the common causes of infertility at

Do the the chances of a second natural pregnancy increase after a succesful IVF pregnancy?

Fertility doctors recommend their patients to try IVF when they are unable to conceive naturally after years of trying. While there might be several underlying factors causing infertility, doctors remain perplexed by cases where no specific cause can be diagnosed for infertility.

Strangely, medical science has found evidence of patients who had success with IVF becoming pregnant for the second time naturally.

Couples who have adopted out of desperation have experienced such miracles too. There is no hard core research to substantiate the facts, however. Do check out the following facts before contacting your doctor at KIC, Bengaluru (https://kicbengaluru.com/)

1) A study conducted in UK revealed that 29% of women who underwent the treatment could conceive naturally after 6 years
2) 17% couples who found success with other treatments could conceive the second child without assistance

Doctors say that their patients are not sterile but infertile and being treated for a medical condition helped them to recover fully.

All you need to know about Blastocyst embryo trasnfer

Today we have successfully transferred Blastocyst embryos to one of our patients at KIC Hyderabad.
Blastocyst embryo transfer is a technique, incorporated with In vitro fertilization (IVF), in which an embryo that has been cultured to the blastocyst stage is transferred to the womb.

The Blastocyst culture and transfer at Blastocyst Stage Procedure for In-Vitro Fertilization selection of the best quality embryos for transfer. The concept of embryo quality is the very important concept to consider especially for couples who are experiencing fertility related issues and are unable to conceive. With Blastocyst embryo transfer, At KIC we transfer fewer embryos – which significantly improves the chances of implantation and thereby increases the chances of pregnancy. Another advantage of transfer at Blastocyst Stage is it reduces the risk of multiple pregnancies.
A Blastocyst is an embryo that has been developed for 5 to 7 days after fertilization unlike the normal transfer in 2 to 3 days (cleavage stage). At this point, the embryo has two different cell types and a central cavity. In this stage, it has just starts to differentiate. The surface cells- called the Trophectoderm, will become the Placenta, and the inner cells-called the inner cell mass, will become the Fetus. A healthy Blastocyst should begin hatching from its outer shell- called the Zona Pellucid, by the end of the sixth day. Within about 24 hours after hatching, it should begin to implant into the lining of the mother’s uterus.
Blastocyst culturing is a technique to grow embryos beyond the 3rd day of culture. Typically in cases of transfer in 3 days after the egg retrieval, embryos generally develop between 6-8 cells. When the embryos culture is extended to blastocyst stage on day 5 they become round 120 cells. In-Vitro Fertilization clinic in hyderabadA natural process of embryo development begins with the fertilization of the egg in the outer aspect of the fallopian tube. As the newly formed embryo develops, it slowly moves towards the uterine cavity where it has to ultimately implant. This process takes approximately 6-7 days. An embryo in “Blastocyst” stage, is ready to implant.

Why should one consider Blastocyst transfer?

In certain patients, the advantage of Blastocyst culturing is to allow optimal selection of embryos for transfer, resulting in an increased implantation rate per embryo transferred. However, it is important to understand that this technology may not necessarily increase your chance of pregnancy as there are many other factors to be countered into to ascertain whether blastocyst culture will be beneficial for a particular case which includes age, number & quality of eggs developed. The main advantage is that fewer embryos may be transferred, still improvising chances of pregnancy, also eliminating or limiting the possibility of multiple pregnancies.
At kic almost all our embryo transfers are at Blastocyst stage as it helps in increasing the chance of pregnancy and reducing abnormal.

Regular Yoga practice can improve sperm DNA quality and reduce recurrent spontaneous abortion.

Regular Yoga practice can improve sperm DNA quality and reduce recurrent spontaneous abortion.

Yoga may aid in normal embryonic development and reduce the incidence of genetic and epigenetic defects in the offspring and reduce the incidence of spontaneous abortions.

Regular practice of Yoga by men can reduce the incidence of recurrent spontaneous abortion as it improves the quality of sperm DNA, according to a study conducted by the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi.

"As part of the study, 60 male partners in couples with idiopathic recurrent spontaneous abortions were made to practice Yoga regularly, said Rima Dada, professor in-charge of Laboratory of Molecular Reproduction and Genetics, Department of Anatomy at AIIMS."These men had no history of performing Yoga prior to inclusion in the study.

"These had seminal oxidative stress and sperm DNA damage which impairs normal embryonic development post fertilisation and thus results in abortion," Dada said.

"Mature sperm has a very basic and incomplete DNA repair mechanism, thus it is better to follow a policy of prevention is better than cure by following a healthy lifestyle and minimising exposure or intake of factors causing oxidative stress that compromise genomic integrity," she said.

The adoption of yoga has shown to lower OS, reduce DNA fragmentation, and thus improve the genomic integrity and normalise sperm transcripts, positively impacting the sperm epigenome.

This may aid in the normal embryonic development and reduce the incidence of genetic and epigenetic defects in the offspring and reduce the incidence of spontaneous abortions, she said.

Happy First Birthday Jacob!

It’s always great to hear from parents of babies, who were born with our help either through our IVF or surrogacy programs.

We have just received a lovely note from California from parents of Jacob, who just turned 1. Jacob was born in Ukraine via our surrogacy program, which is open for married heteroseual infertile couples.

"...I can’t believe it’s been a year already! Jacob started walking this week and there’s no stopping him now! haha. It has gone by too fast. It has been a very exhausting but amazing year. We couldn’t be happier.  :) Hope you are doing well also.”

The lovely parents are just starting their next surrogacy journey with us using their frozen embryos from their previous IVF cycle.

We wish Jacob a very Happy First Birthday and we are looking forward to helping him become a big brother very soon.

Tom Daley's Been Secretly Filming A Documentary About Surrogacy And Fatherhood

This past June, Olympic diver Tom Daley and tv producer Dustin Lance Black became first-time fathers to a lovely baby boy named Robbie Ray.

The two fathers were gifted with Robbie Ray through surrogacy and now Daley shares that he'll be exploring the world and law of surrogacy through a tv film for the BBC. According to The Sun, Daley will travel between the UK, the US, and undisclosed countries where surrogacy is illegal.

Not only will Daley document the surrogacy process, but he will compare the systems in both the UK and the US. In addition, the film will show Daley and his husband discussing the challenges they faced while on the journey to meeting their son. The documentary is set to air sometimes next year.

Back when they announced that they were going to have a baby through surrogacy, Daley and Black faced an onslaught of homophobic abuse online. Many religious-inclined homophobes rejected the idea of two men raising a baby and doing so through surrogacy
"Surrogacy is one of the most complex issues in modern society and the laws which govern it are radically different across the world."

UK Couples Paying £60,000 For Surrogates Despite UK System Of “Reasonable Expenses” Only

UK Couples are paying up to £60,000 for babies born via surrogate mothers despite a ban on commercial surrogacy, a study has found.

The UK's "Altruistic" system means surrogates may be reimbursed only "Reasonable expenses", which experts say should cost families no more than £12,000. A recent survey of 177 sets of parents by the University of Kent showed that the largest group - 30 per cent - paid between £20,000 to 30,000 during the surrogacy process, while 25 per cent paid between £10,000 and £15,000, and 21 per cent paid £15,000 to £20,000. Meanwhile seven per cent paid up to £40,000, and in five cases couples paid up to £60,000.

The law does not set a limit for "Reasonable expenses",  however cash transactions are supposed to be scrutinised by judges when they make parental orders, the process that transfers legal parenthood from the surrogate to the Intended Parents.
The large sums will fuel fears that total surrogacy prices are heading towards US levels, where the profit motive is allowed.
Surrogacy UK is one of a number of organisations campaigning for a change in UK’s 30-year-old law following a six-fold increase in legal applications linked to the process, from 55 in 2007 to 316 in 2016.It wants intended parents to be recognised as the legal parents from the moment of birth, so they can make crucial decisions regarding their child’s healthcare. Currently it takes an average of between six and 12 months for courts to grant parental orders.
The link to the full story is provided below.

At Kiran Fertility Services we understand the financial aspect of the surrogacy process and our Intended Parents are advised of the total cost. We have a affordable Guaranteed take home baby package of 50,000 USD all inclusive.  Our International Patient Co-ordinator for UK and Ireland is based out of London and  guides our parents step by step after their arrival with the baby back to UK with the process of parental order. Our “all inclusive” program attracts more Intended Parents from UK in fact, our next UK baby is due to be born next month via our Surrogacy Program in Mombasa, Kenya.

Why Ukraine Has Become A Hot-Spot For Child Surrogacy

Kiran Fertility Services has been helping Intended Parents via our Surrogacy Ukraine program for over 2 years. Surrogacy in Ukraine became very popular and Ukraine is called the 'capital of surrogate maternity' as the laws concerning surrogacy are relatively lax in comparison to other countries. The surrogate mother does not have the right to reconsider - that is, to keep the child instead of handing the child over to the Intended Parents. The price of the surrogacy process is also affordable.
"In many European countries surrogacy is allowed only if it does not entail a financial exchange," says Sergey Antonov, a lawyer from IRTSA Ukraine - one of the first firms in Ukraine to offer assisted reproduction services.

One of the laws issued by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine says that surrogacy can only be offered to a married couple which, for one reason or another, has been diagnosed as infertile and incapable of reproducing.

We were always committed to help anybody to have a baby via our surrogacy program regardless of race, religion or sexual orientation or the fact that someone is or is not legally married and this is why we started with our Surrogacy Program in Kenya: https://surrogacykenya.org/
Surrogacy Kenya helped and is continuing to help many Intended Parents to have babies. It always feels good  to see "OUR" babies grow.

Surrogacy in UK - What You Need To Know About Having A Baby

At Kiran Fertility Services we are committed to helping everybody to have a baby via surrogacy regardless of race, religion, sexusal orientation or fact that you are or you are not legally married. Different countries have different laws in regards to surrogacy and it is important to know the facts.

People may choose to use a surrogate for all sorts of reasons - fertility issues, preexisting health problems, issues with previous pregnancies or age-related concerns - and of course, it can seem like a no-brainer for same-sex couples or single people looking to have a family of their own.

There are two types of legal surrogacy in the UK
- gestational - where the surrogate is implanted with an embryo that has been fertilised in a lab using the intended mother's or donor's egg and the intended father's or donor's sperm.
- traditional surrogacy - where the surrogate's own egg is fertilised by the intended father's sperm.

The current law in UK means parents having a baby through surrogacy must apply for a court order to gain legal rights over the child once it has been born.
It can also mean that if a surrogate mother changes her mind about giving up the child, parents could face a long legal battle to try and claim the baby. This is because current rules in the UK give a woman automatic parentage over any child she gives birth to, even if the child is not biologically her own.
We have many Intended Parents joining one of our surrogacy programs at both Surrogacy Kenya and Surrogacy Ukraine from UK to avoid situations like that and also because of the fact that surrogacy abroad is much more affordable.

Being a surrogate isn't an easy job  - pregnancy puts a massive strain on the body. Most surrogates don’t get into it for the money in UK. They do it because they love children, and they want to help people who cannot have them.
All surrogates, whether traditional or gestational, are required to complete a health screening form - and in some cases may be required to show evidence of their blood tests to the potential parents or their representatives.

The number of Chinese Intended Parents seeking IVF and surrogacy services has significantly increased in the past two years since the end of the one child policy in China. We have many Intended Parents seeing IVF at our Kiran Infertility Center clinics across India and also many Intended Parents seeking surrogacy program at Surrogacy Kenya.

More and more Chinese couples are going abroad seeing for fertility treatments, as doctors in China can not treat all those who seek assistance conceiving.
There are only 400 licenced IVF clinics in China and somewhere between 40 to 90 million infertile people, more than 2 millions IVF cycles are needed each year and only about half of million can be done at the moment. There are also restrictions on egg donations and surrogacy and this is why many Intended Parents are seeking treatments overseas. Kiran Fertility Services is happy to assist via our IVF and Surrogacy Programs.

At Surrogacy Kenya we just have had a birth of beautiful set of twins – a boy and a girl via our surrogacy program in Kenya to our Intended Parents from China. We have at the moment 8 more Surrogate Mothers carrying babies for our Intended Parents from China at our Surrogacy Kenya.

IVF/Surrogacy benefits all class of people

Krushna Abhishek and Kashmera Shah’s twins (born via surrogacy) first birthday bash was no less than a grand bash with every popular TV celeb present.

Kashmera revealed in one recent interview, that she and Krushna had tried 13 times to have kids naturally, however, it didn't work out. The actor stated that in just 10 days, she went from size two to eight and tried every month to have a baby; she even pumped herself with injections.
She told in the interview that one of Krushna's cousins suggested them to opt for surrogacy. Shah said people in India think that an actor opts for surrogacy because they think she is figure-conscious. She said that because of their profession, they don't tend to marry early or have kids soon. But it was really hard for her to go through all the struggle.

Well, now this family looks complete.

Why do Patients Travel to India for Surrogacy

Why do Patients Travel to India for Surrogacy The need to have a child by means of surrogacy and Ivf makes infertile couples from all across the globe travel several thousands of miles to INDIA. "According to Dr. Samit Sekhar The willingness to travel for seeking surrogacy treatments and the practice that facilitates fertility travel is known as reproductive tourism." In the past few years, reproductive tourism in INDIA has expanded rapidly and is now a huge part of the medical tourism industry in INDIA.

The Kiran Infertility centre has carried out research as to the reasons that compel infertile couples to travel abroad for fertility care. some of the findings of that research are_ According to Dr. Samit Sekhar One in six couples worldwide experience some form of Infertility Problem at least once during their Reproductive lifetime. The current prevalence of infertility lasting for at least 12 months is estimated to be around 9% worldwide for women in the reproductive age group. 20-30% of infertility cases are explained by physiological causes in men, 20-35% by physiological causes in women, and 25-40% of cases are because of a problem in both partners. In 10-20% no cause is found. Infertility is also associated with lifestyle factors such as smoking, body-weight and stress. Increasing age in the female partner is one of the most common explanations today.  It is now estimated that around 5 million babies have been born worldwide through ivf and other forms of assisted reproductions since the first IVF baby was born in 1978. It is estimated that about 50,000 patients travel abroad each year for fertility treatments such as surrogacy Most ART treatments take place in women aged between 30 and 39. India- Major Destinations offering Reproductive Tourism Major Points of Departure for Patients of travelling to India for surrogacy treatments. USA Latin-American Countries mainly Brazil. Canada Israel Spain South Africa Japan Sweden Singapore Australia Hong Kong African Countries Factors contributing to Reproductive Tourism. The factors involved that contribute in prospective Intended Parents to search for other avenues abroad can broadly be classified into two: Demand Supply Factors contributing to Reproductive Tourism: Demand Side Requirements. Country Specific Policies and Laws Regulations with respect to ART Techniques Time Frame of the Process Racial Diversity Local Dearth of Technology Cost of ART Third party Reproduction- Eggs, Sperm, or Wombs. Social Stigma & Secrecy Gender Selection (banned in India) Country Specific Policies and Laws. Non Commercial Surrogacy (Altruistic Surrogacy): Countries like Australia, Canada, Greece, Israel, South Africa, and the United Kingdom. Countries like Israel, U.K., U.S.A. & Canada advocate rights for Surrogate/ Donors wherein they can keep the baby if he/she wishes to. Eg: Baby M case in USA, 1986: the Surrogate mother was deemed the legal parent, but the custody was given to the genetic parents. In South Africa, an Intended Parent can only enter into a Surrogacy Arrangement after Court's Approval, which may take a long time to be processed. New Zealand law recognizes Birth Mother as the only Mother and despite the Surrogacy Arrangement an Intended Parent needs to enter into an Altruistic Surrogacy Arrangement only and adopt a child through Court. Regulations with respect to ART Techniques. Countries in Europe, Middle East Asia have imposed regulations on various techniques of ART like number of Embryo's to be transferred, scheduling of Embryo Transfers etc., which may have a negative impact on outcome of the case. Swedes, Norwegians, and the Dutch travel to Denmark for sperm. These countries permit only known donors and prohibit anonymous donation. As a result women seeking semen donors from these countries travel to Denmark which permits anonymous donation. Similarly there are countries where there are restrictions imposed for Same Sex Couples and Single Parents and such these people travel to other countries for undergoing this process. Time Frame of the Process. Many big facilities in various countries have a waiting period due to various factors. In this scenario, the Intended Parents would not want to wait. Especially those whose biological clock would be ticking. Hence this factor is a major contributor to Reproductive Tourism. In fact, Sweden has almost a 2 year waiting list for sperm donation. Racial Diversity. Intended Parents opting for ART Techniques with either Sperm/ Egg Donation often like to look out for a Donors with different ethnicities and this leads to patients travelling. Britain prohibits payment to Donors, hence patients from Britain go to Spain and Romania for Donors. Clinics in countries like India, Romania & Spain cater to such patients seeking oocyte donors Local Dearth of Technology. In certain African, Middle-Eastern, Asian and a few Latin American countries, the ART Treatments are not as advanced as in other parts of the globe, this contributes for residents of such countries to look out for more advanced avenues. Cost of the process Costs for ART Treatments in various developed countries like USA, UK, Canada are higher by at least three times from the costs in countries like India, Thailand and hence not all people have access to these treatments. Most of the Government sponsored Health Insurance Schemes do not offer coverage to ART Treatments. Third Party Reproduction: oocytes, Sperm, or Wombs. Various reasons such as Government Regulations and Differences in Cost-of-Living have lead to compensation disparities among developed and developing countries in payment of Donors and Gestational Carriers, hence contributing to exodus of patients seeking such treatments to cheaper countries. Social Stigma & Secrecy Patients move to other horizons to maintain Secrecy. Certain societies, especially in Asia and the middle east, Infertility is considered as a Social Stigma and hence patients go to other countries for such processes.
