1. The success rate of IVF varies from clinic to clinic across the
globe and population to population. In India, it differs from clinic to clinic
and there are several factors that determine the success in IVF treatment. Some
of the key factors deciding the success in a IVF treatment at Kiran Infertility Centre – Hyderabad includes-
Age
–
The age of woman is the biggest factor in determining the successes of an IVF
procedure. With a success rate of 80-85% IVF is most successful in case of
women aged between the ages of 24 and 35. As the age increases, the success
rate drops due to the reduction in the quality and quantity of the woman’s
eggs.
· Type of fertility
problems – Another factor is the type of
infertility problem that the couple is facing. Women with problems such as
PCOD, , blocked fallopian tubes due to genital infections, Poor endometrium
thickness and pelvic inflammatory diseases and men with low sperm count, mobility
and morphology can generally be easily tackled with IVF. However, other
problems or diseases that require surgery such as fibroids, uterine
abnormalities and ovarian dysfunction are more difficult to overcome by simple
IVF treatment.
· Lifestyle – lifestyle
habits of couple such as smoking, alcoholism greatly reduces the chances of
success rate in IVF. Obesity or underweight may result in fewer chances of
conceiving through IVF treatment.
· Previous pregnancy – A
woman with previous pregnancy has a greater chance of conceiving through IVF in
case she has been pregnant before and had carried her baby to term. A woman
with frequent miscarriages could have problem conceiving with the help of IVF.
Besides these the quality of the Infrastructure especially the IVF laboratory and the Skill and experience of the fertility consultants is perhaps the most important aspect that contributes to higher IVF success rates.
