Since the outbreak of the
noval corona virus 2019, everything has been changed. People came to know about
an entirely new perspective of living their lives. Everyone around the globe
has felt something different in their own lives and have started working to
either change it or enjoy it. People, who were staying alone in these tough
times, have definitely gone through much more as compared to all of us.
Amongst these, a lot of
women felt very lonely and started developing an urge to have their own babies.
As we know being a mother can be the greatest feeling of all times. But they
don't know about their future mates like when they will meet them and will
their body be biologically acceptable at that time. So for the matter of fact,
a lot of women have started to freeze their eggs in these post covid times.
Studies indicates that
there has been an exponential increase in the women who are looking forward to
freeze their eggs. These bleak and unpredictable times have been a good source
of reset for everyone. Expenses have also been directed to different things
rather than spending on travelling and other non-essentials
The main reason that can
be attributed behind this exponential growth is women getting more time with
themselves and able to explore what is really important to them in life and
what is not. Many have started realizing the importance of family and their
closed ones. The time which was spent alone made them feel more alone and empty
than ever.
According to the study
published by Monash group, there has been a 24% and 134% increase in Victoria
and Queensland respectively amongst the women opting for freezing their eggs. A
significant population opting for the same is in their 30s.
In younger women there
has been a upswing in demand for freezing eggs from past two to three years as
who could afford it financially acted to manage their own fertility.
Apart from all the financial
and societal conditions, a major difference which is being observed is the
cultural change which is quite observant. Earlier women in their late 30s
started realizing this but now more women in their young age have started
opting it and started talking about it in their workplaces.
Freezing cannot be a
guarantee of successful pregnancy and a large number of eggs are required to
increase their chances of success which could be slightly more expensive.
